Component Maturity Scale

The component maturity scale is a guideline to help teams understand the readiness and stability of components within the design system. Each component is assigned a maturity level based on its development progress, intended usage, and potential for changes. This ensures teams can make informed decisions about which components to use in their projects.

When evaluating components, always refer to this documentation website or Storybook as the source of truth. The code repository may contain components that are still in testing or have a “Do Not Use” maturity level, which could lead to incomplete or unstable implementations.

Maturity Levels

•   Ready for Production
  These components are stable, tested, and fully supported for use in production environments. They are unlikely to change significantly.
•   Under Review
  These components are being evaluated and may change based on feedback. They are functional but should be used with caution, as updates could introduce modifications.
•   Work in Progress (DO NOT USE)
  These components are still being developed and are incomplete. They are subject to frequent, potentially breaking changes and should not be used in production.
•   Deprecated (DO NOT USE)
  These components are not recommended for use, as they are no longer updated and may be removed in the future. Teams should transition to alternative solutions as soon as possible.
