VA health care

With VA health care, you're covered for regular checkups with your primary care provider and appointments with specialists like cardiologists, gynecologists, and mental health providers. You can access Veterans health care services like home health and geriatric care, and you can get medical equipment, prosthetics, and prescriptions.

Most Veterans who served on active duty and separated under other than dishonorable conditions are eligible for VA health care. Your eligibility is also based on your service history and other factors.

After you apply

After you apply, we'll review your application and send you a letter in the mail with our decision. The process usually takes less than a week if you apply online.

If you're approved, we'll schedule an appointment for you at your nearest VA facility for an orientation and first appointment with your primary care provider.
