User Addition Request Policy

Users with access to the VA network can request access to Department of Veterans Affairs organization in GitHub.com by submitting a request on the VA’s internal access request page.

Users without access to the VA network will need to have another user or their PM or COR submit a request on their behalf by opening an issue in the GitHub Support repository.

Users with an @va.gov email address will be automatically provisioned in the Department of Veterans Affairs organization in GitHub.com.

Users with an external email address are provisioned temporary access automatically. These users must take additional steps to gain permanent access to the organization:

  1. The user’s PM/COR has to approve the user’s request for access within 5 business days.
  2. The user must verify their VA.gov email address in their GitHub profile within 90 days of provisional access.
