Change Repo Visibility

Organization Owners can change the visibility of repositories. Step by step instructions below.

Users creating new repositories have the option to create their repositories with either Internal or Private visibility. The Public visibility option has been disabled for members of the organization to protect sensitive information from accidentally leaking to the public. If a project requires that their repository be made public, users may open a request here and the GitHub delivery team will help coordinate the appropriate approvals to make a repository public on your behalf.
