Requesting Access to GitHub EMU

Guides for requesting access to the Department of Veterans Affairs GitHub Enterprise Managed Users enterprise.

ATTENTION: The VA GitHub EMU enterprise is currently migrating to the new GHEC-US enterprise. Users looking for information on how to get started with GHEC-EMU should consider using GHEC-US as their GitHub solution.

GitHub Enterprise Managed Users

GitHub Enterprise Managed Users uses Single Sign-On to manage access to the instance. Users must have a PIV and been issued a @va.gov email addresses to onboard.

Note: Access to the EMU UI is currently restricted to the VA network, via Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Access Gateway (CAG), or Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).

To onboard, you will need to open a support issue mentioning you are requesting access to GitHub EMU. You can open the support issue in either the GHEC GitHub User Requests or have a colleague that already has EMU access create the issue in the GHEC-EMU support repository. In either case, clearly mention that you are requesting access to GHEC-EMU and provide the va.gov email address of the user.

If you don’t have access to the GHEC GitHub User Requests repository, please follow the instructions in the Getting GHEC Access Guide to request access to the GitHub Enterprise Cloud organization.
