Automated PAT Expiration

Personal Access Tokens (PATs) are set to expire after 90 days.

Automatic Personal Access Token Expiration

A policy is in place that automatically expires all Personal Access Tokens (PATs) after 90 days. This policy is in place to ensure that PATs are not used indefinitely in an effort to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to our GitHub organizations.

How do I comply with this policy?

To comply with this policy, you must create a new PAT every 90 days. At the time of creation, GitHub will ask you to set an expiration date for the PAT. You must set the expiration date to 90 days or less from the time of creation.

If you attempt to create a PAT that expires more than 90 days from the time of creation, you will receive an error message and the PAT will not be created.
